Hairy Fruit

OK. I have often had peach flavored drinks, candy, ice cream or a number of other things but I have never just eaten a peach. They gross me out. They are hairy! Who in the world would want to eat a really hairy piece of food? Last night Dusty and our neighbors Marcie and Trent had me try a peach. I didn't just bite into it though. Trent peeled it and chopped it up for me. And guess what, I LOVED it! It was so good. I ate the whole bowl. I even wanted more. It was amazing. They bought them from a farmers market so it was grown locally--they tell me store bought peaches suck.

Dusty always tells me that I am deprived or just weird because there are A LOT of fruits and veggies that I have never eaten before. A few weeks ago I tried my first cherry and I liked it. I have never had a plum, pear, apricot, cantaloupe, honey dew melon---I just had a frozen mango the other day....

I don't think that it's weird that I haven't tried those things. When I was growing up I just stuck to the tried and true things that I liked like apples, oranges and sometimes bananas. (For some reason I went through like a 14 year stint to where I hated bananas, but I am eating them a lot now....) I love kiwi, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries (yummy!) and a lot of other fruit.

Does anyone else have a fruit and veggie thing to where you haven't tried or just don't like stuff that other people think is "normal"?

Probably magna cum laudE, (unless there's another society with a similar name). Laus (ablative laude) = praise is third declension (see http://www.du.edu/~etuttle/classics/latin/latin4.htm).

Well we never had apricots, or brussell sprouts or lima beans, kiwis, etc. But as I've become an adult I've come to love them all. Ok, I HATED pie growing up it totally grossed me out. But now, man, I LOVE IT! But yeah, fruit is so much better when you get it local. I just had a fresh local tomato, cherry, blackberry and cucumber in the last few days and man, they were awesome. And I "hate" blackberries so thats saying something ;) (Oh and I promise I'll get back to your email for organizing stuff too...)

D O R K - You spelled it like "harry". That is someone's name. You meant to say "hairy", right?

I still want a picture of you though.

I think it is very odd that you have not tried certain fruits and veggies but it must be a logsdon thing because we all know what mike eats. I love home grown tomatoes. We have a neighbor that brings me some from their garden I can sit down and eat one or two at a time. Amy, have you ever had fried okra. It's the best!

OKRA!?!?! Have you ever ate butt? The only difference is that okra is green and butt is brown.

Not all Logsdons don't eat fruits and vegetables. We used to be in the Fruit of the Month club for crying out loud... Amy and Mike are just weird. I'm just weird because certain fruits make my lips swell up, like watermelon.

Yes, I have had fried okra and I LOVE it! Dusty's dad made some one day and I reluctantly tried it and now I am hooked!

First of all, my wife is nuts. Okra is crap, and she is insane. For all of you losers who are tards, here is a short list of what fruits and Veggies I will now Eat:
Lettuce, Peas, carrots, very few green beans (very few), red cabbage in salads, POTATOES HELLO, and believe it or not, broccoli.
As for fruit; Red, Green, and golden APPLES, Bananas, WATERMELON, Is jello a fruit? cherry coke, cherry pepsi, root beer, hops and barley, Hawaiian punch, and powerade, if that counts.
Thank you all very much

Mike
